Second Promotional Workshop for the Libya Industrial Development Fund
The second workshop promoting the Libya Industrial Development Fund kicked off this morning and will run for two days; it is also dedicated to highlighting the role of the Libyan Cooperative Company for Industrial Zone Management, with broad participation from the country’s economic and official bodies.
The workshop saw the distinguished attendance and participation of:
• Members of the Economic Committee of the Libyan House of Representatives
• Members of the Economic Committee of the High Council of State
• Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives
• Mr Ahmed Al-Magraif – Deputy Chairman of the Eastern Region Business Owners Council
• Mr Ali Nasir – Executive Director of the Libyan Federation of Industry
• Dr Nasser Najm – Chairman of the Investment Promotion Authority
• Mr Mohammed Al-Ajil and Mr Hussein Al-Tair representing the Cooperative Company
• Officials responsible for economic affairs at the National Security Agency
• A select group of businessmen and those interested in economic affairs in Benghazi
The workshop proceedings were opened with official addresses by:
• Mr Idris Omran – Member of the House of Representatives’ Committee on Economy, Trade and Investment
• Mr Mohammed Al-Ajil – Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan Cooperative Company
• Mr Ali Al-Tumi – Official sponsor of the event (Al-Mansoura Holding Company)
• Dr Abusif Aghnia – Chairman of the Founding Committee of the Libya Industrial Development Fund
• Mr Saeed Wannis – Representative of the Libyan Business Owners Council and the High Council of State
Dr Abusif Aghnia, accompanied by members of the Founding Committee, then gave a detailed presentation on the stages completed in establishing the Fund, followed by an open discussion to exchange ideas and propose development strategies.
The attendees expressed full agreement on the importance of moving forward with support for this national project, considering it a strategic pillar for promoting industrial development and stimulating local investment in Libya.
